Term: This is a full-time role operating from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday. It is a fixed-term maternity cover on a 12-mont term starting July 2025
Reports to: Director of Marketing and Communications

Salary: £50-60,000 (depending on experience)

Job Summary:

KOKO is seeking an experienced Senior Marketing / Project Manager with outstanding leadership and project management skills to oversee and execute all marketing initiatives during a maternity cover. This role is pivotal in driving brand awareness, customer engagement, acquisition, and revenue growth across KOKO, The House of KOKO, and Cafe KOKO.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading multiple teams and projects simultaneously, including experience managing digital product and design teams. Proficiency in project management tools such as Asana, Jira, or Monday.com is essential for coordinating teams and workflows effectively.

This position will also involve budget management, campaign planning, and team leadership, requiring a dynamic individual with exceptional multitasking, people management, and digital marketing expertise.

Role &  Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Commercial Targets

  • Align marketing strategies with commercial objectives to ensure consistent pipeline growth and revenue generation.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and performance of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social media, content, email, and traditional channels.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams (KOKO Studios, Cultural Events, Membership, Music) to drive impactful launches, announcements, and promotional campaigns.
  • Monitor and report monthly on key performance metrics.
  • Assist in managing the marketing budget, updating budget trackers, and reconciling monthly expenses.
  • Allocate resources effectively in alignment with financial planning.

Design & Creative Oversight

  • Lead and manage a team of three designers specializing in UX design, branding, content creation (motion graphics & video), illustration, and typography.
  • Oversee project and task allocation with commercial business objectives in mind, including daily, weekly, and monthly sprint reviews.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, including C-suite executives.
  • Oversee freelancers to ensure adequate support during peak periods.
  • Occasionally brief the team on behalf of external stakeholders or other departments.

Digital Marketing & CRM

  • Lead digital marketing efforts, including email marketing and online advertising, to maximise audience reach.
  • Oversee website and app development, ensuring content is up-to-date, visually appealing, and optimised for SEO.
  • Coordinate Salesforce Marketing and Sales Cloud initiatives, including email journeys, reports, and audience segmentation.
  • Supervise software and system changes, including bug fixes, Q&A, API integrations, and maintenance.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations regarding digital deliverables and deadlines.
  • Lead a monthly digital insights meeting to provide actionable insights that inform marketing strategies.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead and oversee design and digital teams, ensuring workflows are optimised and priorities are met.
  • Line manager to three direct reports (Digital Product Manager, Lead Designer, CRM Manager).
  • Manage the holiday schedule for the 10-person marketing team, flagging resource issues with the Director of Marketing and Communications.
  • Foster a positive, results-driven culture that supports both individual and team growth.
  • Establish clear goals, KPIs, and performance metrics, providing regular feedback and evaluations.

About you

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated leader with a proven track record in marketing and project management, with the following key attributes;

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing with excellent project management skills, or as a project manager in marketing / advertising agency.
  • Expertise in leading multiple cross-functional teams across marketing, design, and digital product development.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools and platforms, including CRM, SEO, email marketing, and paid media.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (Asana, Jira, Monday.com) and experience running sprint reviews.
  • Experience managing budgets and ensuring effective allocation of resources.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with C-suite executives, third-party vendors, and internal teams.
  • Technical proficiency in platforms such as Salesforce Marketing and Sales Cloud, Square, SevenRooms, See Tickets, Dice, Resident Advisor, and Toast.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret marketing performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
