Reports to: Corporate Event Specialist
Working week: The role will require a combination of in-office work and onsite shifts to support with events, membership activations and member or potential lead engagement*.
*The role will usually operate from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday, but will also include one night a week in the house to support the execution of relevant events, client hosting and events with acquisition potential, and work closely with the operational team to deliver on the needs of business.
Job Summary
KOKO is an iconic and unique house of creative arts and entertainment, that requires the services of a Sales & Events Manager. This role will focus on event sales conversion, achievement of our financial targets, and increasing corporate membership engagement through events and commercial activations.
With a keen focus on corporate events within the House of KOKO, you will work as part of a multi-tasking event team, collaborating closely with the Events Specialist and Senior Events Manager in managing a wide range of corporate events from initial lead to conversion, event management and delivery, and developing intuitive post-event analysis.
You will focus on the most effective use of the commercial diary and help the team to achieve sales targets. Your role will involve developing relationships with our corporate members, external suppliers, and liaising with internal teams to streamline processes and ensure high standards are met both operationally and commercially.
Role and responsibilities
Sales and Conversion
- To work alongside the Events Specialist and Private Events Manager, converting and managing most Corporate House of KOKO Events from initial enquiry through to delivery.
- To work closely with the Head of Corporate Sales, and confidently create targeted proposals, build packages and lead pitches for potential Corporate Members, ensuring conversion to profitable hires within the portfolio of venues.
- To contribute to the achievement of set targets, KPI’s and business objectives for the financial year, to ensure the maximisation of all income-generating opportunities.
- To work closely with departments across KOKO to establish the venue as a multi-purpose site across our current networks and introductions to new markets.
- Develop contacts within relevant cultural, commercial and social markets, building a strong pipeline of sales opportunities to secure new business.
- To conduct tours of The House of KOKO, Café Koko and where relevant the KOKO Theatre, with clients – with main focus to convert to event sales.
- To identify opportunities for and arrange FAM trips, hospitality events and client / agency visits with the Event Specialist and Senior Events Manager.
- Attend networking opportunities as defined by the Director of Sales and Events and Events Specialist.
Operational and Admin
- To liaise and build relationships with all other teams, encourage collaboration, and support the smooth running of all events.
- To brief Operational Teams and ensure delivery of events are of the highest standard, and to be onsite to meet clients at the beginning of each confirmed event.
- With a flexible approach, assist as necessary in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the department and the operational delivery of our events.
- Where relevant, the ability to accommodate early get-ins or late nights for events, and acting as onsite duty venue representative during out-of-office hour events.
- To manage own sales pipeline and maintain and update relevant CRM systems.
- Become a champion of Salesforce – ensuring all communication is updated on the system.
- To work closely with the Partnerships Team, and have a thorough understanding of their work and relationships to continue to align our scope in accommodating suitable events without conflicts, reputationally or legally.
- To work with the Event Specialist and Marketing Departments, developing all third-party listings, carrying out competitive analysis and have an up to date awareness of competitor offerings.
- To ensure all relevant invoices, event operations summaries, production information and legislative requirements are issued at point of contract
About you
We are seeking a commercially driven events professional with deep industry knowledge, strong networks, and a proven track record in sales, revenue optimisation, and seamless event execution, who has the following key attributes;
- Proven ability to develop and implement innovative sales and marketing strategies within the events industry, with a strong understanding of the UK market, key stakeholders, and luxury brands.
- Extensive experience in corporate and private event management, with deep operational knowledge of venue logistics, event execution, and delivering within high-demand or restricted spaces.
- Strong commercial awareness, including optimizing income opportunities through strategic supplier relationships and commission structures.
- Adept at building and maintaining influential industry networks, fostering relationships with event organizers, agencies, suppliers, and internal teams to drive business success.
- Skilled in streamlining operational processes, ensuring seamless event delivery while proactively resolving challenges and maintaining best practices.
- A confident and professional ambassador, representing KOKO with credibility and expertise in all industry engagements.
