Ace Records 50th Anniversary Concert Series presents: The Fatback Band

Formed by drummer Bill Curtis in 1970, the Fatback Band’s legend is palpable. In a recent retrospective, The Guardian hailed that “Fatback’s influence is everywhere, from disco-funk to 50 years of hip-hop”, while their 1979 single ‘King Tim III (Personality Jock)’ is widely considered to be the first ever commercial hip-hop single. Now, as part of Ace Records’ 50th Anniversary celebrations, the band bring their vibrant back catalogue – featuring ‘I Found Lovin’’, ‘Backstrokin’’, ‘(Do The) Spanish Hustle’ and more – to KOKO.
