Having begun his career in the church before making his public debut on the sixth season of Project Fame West Africa, in the decade since Johnny Drille has cemented his own star, releasing debut album ‘Before We Fall Asleep’ in 2021 and, most recently, last year’s ‘Hard Guy Confessions’ EP – a joint project with frequent collaborator Don Jazzy. “A story of two artistes moving through love, friendship, and unmasking the vulnerabilities that comes with it” (Afrocritik), the project marks the next era of Drille’s unique blend of African folk and alternative rock as he brings it all to KOKO.
