South London based singer-songwriter Maxine Scott is emerging as a rising star, creating a buzz in the underground UK Soul/RNxxB scene. Her latest single ‘Sinner’ is the debut single from her upcoming debut EP scheduled to drop later this year, landing coveted spots on Spotify’s Fresh Finds R&B BBC introducing, Wordplay, RAYDAR, Amazing Radio USA/UK and Deezer.
Marking her initial foray into the scene with her lo-fi underground beats made in a small seaside town in Kent, ‘Erykah U Bad’, ‘Ya Energy’, and ‘New To This’, immediately captured the spotlight, earning her support from BBC Kent’s Fresh Finds, Mixmag, Sofar Sounds, Hootananny Brixton and Blues Kitchen (The Soul Kitchen presented by DJ Spoony and DJ Volatile).
From busking the streets of London alongside talent such as Tiktok viral sensation Victor Ray, to showcasing her talent at the Jazz Cafe (presented by Global Soul), her soul-stirring melodies, raw rasp and natural story-telling abilities tug at your heartstrings and leave you wanting more. Drawing inspiration from household voices such as Amy Winehouse, Adele, Jorja Smith, Sasha Keable and Joy Crookes, Maxine weaves emotion through her speak easy and relatable storytelling – definitely one to watch for the new wave of Pop-Soul.
